Laser Star

Whilst it is possible to get advanced warning from standard laser detectors, Laser Star laser speed camera detector will not only provides you with an audible and visual alert to the presence of 904nm laser but will also fire back the same frequency and pulse rate thereby confusing the mobile laser speed camera equipment. This effectively prevents it from taking a speed reading of your vehicle. Laser Star is able to do this by using incredibly fast microchip technology and class 1 laser diodes installed to the front of your vehicle.

Laser Star is the only laser speed camera detector on the market to use such high quality lasers and lenses. This gives huge advantages to both reception and coverage. The unit is supplied with a single laser sensor which can be fitted to either the front or the rear of the vehicle, additional laser sensor heads are available which plug in to the same junction box.

Police laser guns transmit around 100 pulses of infrared light in one-third of a second at a reflective area of a car, usually the front number-plate. These pulses reflect to the gun, which then calculates how much the distance is changing over time and therefore the vehicle’s speed. Laser Stars laser detector detects these pulses and returns its own laser beam at the same wavelength.

In order to prevent possible interference with other laser based systems Laser Star has been designed to alert the driver of possible interference and if necessary switch the system off.

Should new laser frequencies be allocated by the Home Office then the unit can be upgraded in-situ.
