Many car manufacturers are already using carbon in heated seats on high-end applications but it is now available to the aftermarket, so now you can have the technology at a fraction of the car dealer option price. In use, the key benefit of carbon over traditional wire elements is its strength and durability, the carbon element is not as prone to failure as continuity is retained even if a single fibre is broken. Not only that, you get a much more even spread of heat due to the "honeycomb" mesh design rather than linear elements.
