The most striking advancement with the DDX4016BT comes with new Bluetooth functionality. It is now possible to simultaneously pair two phones via Bluetooth. Each phone can then be used as a hands-free device. This is particularly useful for users with two phones, perhaps a work phone and a personal phone, or for those who share a vehicle with others and wish to remain paired to the head unit.
This can be used with both Android or Apple mobile devices and, new for 2016, the DDX4016BT will also auto pair with both platforms. Apple users also benefit from SIRI eyes free dialling and the head unit will accept voice commands to dial. This allows the driver to keep their eyes firmly on the road.
When paired for audio streaming, the DDX4016BT uses AVRCP 1.5 for music browsing. Another new feature for 2016, AVRCP 1.5 allows wireless browsing of music on your device via bluetooth. The head unit is able to handle all interactions with your mobile device wirelessly via automatic pairing, interacting with your mobile device has never been safer or easier.
If you do choose to connect to the DDX4016BT with a wired connection the 1.5Amp quick charge USB function keeps your device on charge. The DDX4016BT also uses Android Open Accessory support for USB audio streaming and allows full iPod and iPhone USB playback.
To make the most of your audio the DDX4016BT uses a new audio DSP and also supports DVD, CD, MP3, WMA and AAC formats.
The DDX4016BT also features built in parking guidelines when using an optional camera and the 6.2 inch WVGA touch screen displays with exceptional clarity.
